Banana Bread
Ingredients :
- well ripened banana - 3 ( about 6" long)
- wheat flour - 1 cup (250 ml cup)
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- sugar - 1/2 cup
- butter - 4 tbs
- egg - 1
- vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Method :
- sift together wheat flour, salt and baking powder
- in a separate bowl whisk together butter, egg and sugar until creamy
- mash banana and add it into the butter mixture
- add in vanilla and mix well
- fold in the flour into this mix as 2 batches
- transfer into a greased loaf pan (8x4)
- bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree C for 50 - 60 minutes or until a sharp knife inserted came out clean
- remove from pan and allow it to cool for 10 minutes
- remove from loaf pan and let it cool completely
- then cut and serve with 1 cup of tea or coffee
