Whole Wheat Lemon Cake

 Ingredients :


  • wheat flour - 1 cup
  • baking powder - 1tsp
  • salt - a pinch
  • butter at room temperature - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 3/4 cup
  • eggs - 2
  • lemon zest - of 2 large lemons
  • curd/yogurt - 2 tbs

 Method :



  • Mix together wheat flour, baking powder and salt. Keep this aside.
  • cream together butter and sugar until pale yellow
  • add in the eggs one at a time and beat until well combined
  • add in lemon zest and combine well
  • sift in the flour mix
  • fold in gently;avoid over mixing
  • add in curd and mix gently
  • transfer this cake batter into a cake tin which is lined with parchment paper
  • bake this in a preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 45 - 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted at the centre came out clean 
  • brush the top with lemon syrup
  • cut the cake when it is completely cool

to make lemon syrup :



  • mix 3 tbs sugar, 1 tbs lemon juice and 1/4 cup of water;boil this until get a syrup consistency.

 to zest the lemon :



  • grate the yellow part of lemon skin

Egg Dum Biryani Recipe | How To Make Easy Egg Dum Biryani At Home



Egg Dum Biryani

 Ingredients :

  for masala


  • hard boiled eggs - 4
  • carrot chopped - 1cup
  • capsicum chopped - 1/4 cup
  • onions - 4
  • ginger - 1" piece
  • garlic cloves - 4-5
  • green chilly - 4
  • curry leaves  - 1 spring
  • tomato - 2
  • coconut milk - 1 cup
  • fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1 tbs
  • chilly powder - 1/2 tbs
  • pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • garam masala - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • coriander leaves & mint leaves
  • salt to taste

 for rice



  • biryani rice (I used jeerakasala) - 3 cups
  • whole spices :- 4 cloves, 1" cinnamon, cardamom 3 -4
  • lemon juice - 1 tbs
  • ghee - 2tbs

 for garnishing



  • onion 2 thinly sliced
  • cashews - 50g
  • raisins - 25g

Method


 step1 : prepare toppings


  • heat up 5 tbs oil in a pan
  • add in thinly sliced onions in batches and fry until golden crisp
  • add 1 tsp sugar to keep the onions crisp throughout

 step2 : prepare masala



  • heat up 1 tbs oil
  • add in carrot and saute for 1 minute
  • add in capsicum and saute for 1 minute
  • transfer into a plate and keep aside
  • again heat up 1tbs oil
  • add in fennel seeds and saute for a while
  • now add in chopped ginger & garlic and saute until golden
  • add in green chillies followed by chopped onions
  • add in curry leaves
  • saute until the onions are soft
  • add in the sauteed carrot and capsicum and combine well
  • add in coriander powder, turmeric powder and red chilly powder
  • cook until the raw smell has gone
  • add in tomatoes and cook until they are soft
  • add in coconut milk followed by pepper powder and garam masala
  • add in coriander leaves and mint leaves
  • cook until the gravy become slightly thick
  • adjust the salt level
  • add the halved  eggs and mix gently
  • masala is ready and keep this aside

 step 3 : prepare rice



  • heat up 2 tbs ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel
  • add in the spices and saute for a while
  • add in washed and drained rice and stir for 2 minutes
  • add in boiling water
  • add in salt to taste 
  • finally add lemon juice and mix well
  • cover it and cook on low medium flame until the entire water get absorbed

 step 4 : layering



  • spread 1 tbs ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel
  • spread 1/3 rice and fried onions, cashews and raisins
  • layer 1/2 of egg masala on top
  • again spread 1/3 rice and garnishing items
  • then spread remaining egg masala 
  • layer remaining 1/3 rice
  • sprinkle 1 tbs ghee on top
  • sprinkle the garnishing items
  • cover the vessel with a foil and lid
  • heat up an old tawa
  • place the biryani pot on the hot tawa
  • cook on low flame for 20 minutes and then turn off the flame
  • open the vessel after 10 minutes
  • yummy egg dum biryani is ready to serve

Easy Oats Apple Crumble


Ingredients :


  • apple - 4 large
  • oats - 1cup
  • sugar - 5 tbs
  • cold butter - 3 tbs
  • cinnamon powder - 2 tsp
  • lemon juice of half of a lemon
  • lemon zest - 1 tsp

 Method


  step 1 : prepare apple filling


  • peel and cut the apples into thin slices
  • in a bowl mix together sliced apples, 3 tbs sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon powder, lemon zest and lemon juice
  • keep this aside

 step 2 : prepare oat mix



  • in a separate bowl add in the oats
  • add in 2 tbs sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon powder, and the butter
  • crumble this mix with hands

 step 3 : baking



  • preheat the oven at190 degree centigrade for 10 minutes
  • transfer the apple mix into an oven proof dish
  • spread the oat mix on top
  • bake this at 190 degree centigrade for 40 minutes or until the oats are golden and the apples are soft

Pasta in White Sauce Recipe | White Sauce Pasta Recipe | पास्ता बनाने की विधि



White Sauce Pasta


White sauce pasta is extremely easy to make.Whenever make pasta,try use durum wheat pasta. Durum wheat is a variety of wheat which has higher protein and gluten content. However you can use any pasta according to your preference.

Ingredients :

 pasta - 1cup( I used penne pasta)
carrot - 1/4cup( finely chopped)
capsicum - 2 tbs ( finely chopped)
garlic chopped - 1/2 tsp
milk - 1.5 cups
maida/ plain four - 1 tbs
butter - 2 tbs
chilly flakes - 1/2 tsp
pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
oregano - 1/2 tsp
nutmeg powder - 1/2 tsp

Method

step 1 : cooking pasta


  • boil 4 cups of water
  • add in enough salt
  • add in pasta into the boiling water
  • cook the pasta for approx.10 minutes or until al - dente ( cooked but not very soft)
  • then drain and keep aside

 step 2 : cooking vegetables

  • heat up 1 tbs butter
  • add in garlic and saute until golden
  • add in carrot and saute on high flame for 1 minute
  • add in capsicum and cook on high fame for 1 minute
  • add in salt, chilly flakes and pepper powder as needed
  • transfer the cooked vegetables into a plate and keep aside

step 3 : preparing white sauce ( keep the flame on low while preparing white sauce)

  • heat up 1 tbs butter
  • add in the flour and stir continuously until a paste forms
  • again cook for 2 minutes
  • add in the milk gradually and stir continuously with a whisk
  • cook this until the mixture starts to thicken
  • it may take around 4 -5 minutes
  • add in salt,chilly flakes, oregano, nutmeg and pepper as needed
  • now add in the cooked vegetables and pasta
  • mix well and serve hot
  • grate some cheese if you like

 Notes :

  • Use vegetables of your choice
  • White sauce pasta get thickens as it cools down. Therefore serve them when they are still hot.
