Chilli Potato Recipe | How To Make Potato Chilli At Home



Chilli Potato

 Ingredients :


  • potato - 3 medium (sliced lengthwise)
  • chopped garlic - 1 tbs
  • chopped ginger - 2 tsp
  • chopped green chilly - 2 tsp
  • onion - 1 medium
  • soya sauce - 1 tbs
  • red chilly sauce - t tbs
  • tomato sauce - 2 tbs
  • vinegar - 1 tsp
  • pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • corn flour - 2 tbs + 2 tsp
  • rice flour - 1 tbs
  • salt
  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • spring onion chopped - 2 tbs

 Method


  step 1 : boiling potato slices


  • boil 4 cups of water
  • add in enough salt
  • add in potato slices into the boiling water and boil them for 2 minutes
  • it helps to reduce the starch content in potato
  • after 2 minutes drain from water and let them cool down

  step 2 : frying potato slices



  • add the boiled potato slices into a bowl
  • add in 2 tbs corn flour, 1 tbs rice flour, 1/2 tsp pepper powder and salt
  • combine well
  • deep fry them in batches until golden and crisp
  • drain them and keep aside

  step 3 : preparing gravy



  • heat up 2 tbs oil
  • saute garlic, ginger and green chilly until golden
  • saute onion until soft
  • add in soya sauce, chilly sauce, tomato sauce and vinegar
  • mix 2 tsp corn flour with 1/4 cup of water and add into the mix
  • cook it until reduce to half
  • add in 1/2 tsp pepper powder and sugar
  • check the salt and add if needed
  • add in more sauce if needed
  • add in the fried potato and mix well
  • finally sprinkle the spring onion 
  • spicy chilly potato is ready to serve
  • serve hot
