Veg Pizza
Ingredients
For pizza base :
- wheat flour - 1 cup
- maida / all purpose flour - 1 cup
- salt - as needed
- active dry yeast - 1/2 tsp
- sugar - 1 tsp
- olive oil - 1 tbs
For topping :
- pizza sauce - 2 tbs
- capsicum, onion, olive rings, cheddar cheese , mozzarella cheese, oregano*
Method
step 1 : pizza base
- add yeast and sugar into 1/2 cup of luke warm water and stir well
- keep aside until frothy ( around 10 - 12 minutes )
- in a large bowl mix together flour, salt , yeast dissolved water, and olive oil
- add in warm water little by little and make a sticky dough
- knead it for 10 minutes
- then apply some oil on top and the tuck the dough
- place it in the greased bowl
- cover with a towel or plastic wrap
- keep in a warm place until double in size
step 2: preheating the oven
- if baking in oven, preheat at 200 degree C for 10 minutes
- if using stove top oven ( kadai or a wide heavy bottomed vessel with salt and ring inside ) preheat on high flame for 10 minutes
step 3 : assembling pizza
- press the fermented dough gently and knead slightly
- divide into two portions ( for making two 9" pizza)
- grease and dust the pizza pan
- place the dough and spread it using both hands
- create a dent on the edges
- spread the pizza sauce
- top with topping
step 4 : baking
- if using oven, bake at 200 degree C for 20 minutes
- if using stove top oven, bake on high flame for 20 minutes
- when it is ready, allow it to cool for 10 minutes
- then cut it and enjoy
Note :
- if you don't oregano, use fresh or dried panikoorka leaves for flavouring pizza.
