Ingredients:
- Chicken 750g
- Chilli powder 1 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder 3/4 tsp
- Salt 1 1/2 tsp
- Curd 3 tbs (60g)
- Onion 3 (250g)
- Ginger 1 piece (10g)
- Garlic 15 cloves (15g)
- Green chilli 2 (10g)
- Curry leaves 3 sprigs
- Coriander leaves
For masala
- Pepper corns 1 tbs
- Fennel seeds 1 tbs
- Cumin 1/4 tsp
- Cardamom 6 pods
- Cloves 2
- Cinnamon
- Coriander seeds 1 tbs
- Marinate chicken with chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and curd
- Keep aside for 1 hour
- Dry roast the ingredients listed under 'for masala' for 2 minutes
- Remove from flame and allow it to cool
- Add to small mixer jar
- Powder the masala and keep aside
- After 1 hour half fry the chicken pieces in hot coconut oil
- To the same oil add sliced onion
- Sauté the onion till soft
- Add crushed ginger, garlic and green chilli
- Add curry leaves
- Sauté for 2 minutes
- Add 1/2 tsp chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well
- Add half fried chicken and 3/4 portion of prepared masala and mix well
- Add 1/4 cup of water
- Cover and cook on low flame for around 15 minutes
- Finally add the remaining masala and coriander leaves
- Delicious pepper chicken is ready to serve
