Ingredients:
To marinate:-
- Chicken 500g (cut into small pieces)
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
- Lemon juice 2 tsp
- Salt 3/4 tsp
- Chilli powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
- Shallots 15 (100g)
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tbs (20g)
- Chilli flakes 2 tsp or as needed
- Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tbs
- Garam masala 1 tsp
- Tomato ketchup 3 tbs (60g)
- Dried red chilli 4
- Curry leaves 1 sprig
- Marinate the chicken pieces with all the ingredients mentioned under 'to marinate'
- Keep in refrigerator for 1 hour
- After 1 hour shallow fry the chicken pieces in coconut oil
- To the same oil add whole chillies and curry leaves
- Fry them and keep aside
- Add shallots and stir till become light golden in colour
- Add ginger garlic paste and stir for 2 minutes
- Add chilli flakes and stir for 1 minute
- Add kashmiri chilli powder and garam masala
- Stir for a few seconds
- Add 2 tbs of water
- Add tomato ketchup followed by fried chicken and chillies
- Mix well and delicious chicken kondattam is ready to serve
