Ingredients:
- Bread fruit (kadachakka) 1 (450g)
- Shallots 4 (20g)
- Garlic 10 (15g)
- Chilli flakes 2 tsp (3g)
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves 2 sprigs
- Salt 1 tsp
- Water 1/4 cup (60ml)
- Coconut oil 2 tbs
- Peel and cut bread fruit into small cubes
- Put them in a pressure cooker
- Add salt, turmeric powder and water
- Cook on high flame for 1 whistle
- Open the cooker when the pressure releases
- Remove the excess water if any
- Crush together shallots and garlic
- Add coconut oil in a pan
- Crackle some mustard seeds
- Add crushed garlic - shallots and curry leaves
- Fry till they become golden in color
- Add chilli flakes and pinch of turmeric
- Stir for 30 sec on low flame
- Add cooked bread fruit into this
- Combine well
- Turn off the flame
- Delicious bread fruit stir fry is ready to serve
- It goes well with steamed rice
