No Knead Whole Wheat Bread
Ingredients :
- whole wheat flour - 1+1/2 cups
- all purpose flour - 1+1/2 cups
- salt - 1 tsp
- olive oil - 1 tbs
- active dry yeast - 1tsp
- sugar - 1 tbs
- warm water - approx.550 ml
Method
step 1: activating the yeast
- in half cup of warm water add 1 tsp active dry yeast and suagr
- stir well and let it stand for 10 - 15 minutes until become frothy
step 2 : making dough
- in a large mixing bowl add in all purpose flour, whole wheat flour and salt
- mix well and make a well at the centre
- pour in the yeast mixture , oil and 1+3/4 cup of warm water
- mix well..you will end up with a mass of sticky dough
step 2 : proofing
- keep the dough covered in a warm place until double in size
- for me it took around 3 hours
- stir well with a wooden spoon to degaas the dough
- transfer into a greased loaf tin
- cover it and keep aside for second proofing
- the dough will rise within 30 to 45 minutes
step 3 : baking
- bake it in a preheated oven at 200 degree C for 35 - 40 minutes
- once it is done brush with some butter to soften the crust
- allow it to cool completely before cutting
