Ingredients
- Toor dal 3/4 cup (150g)
- Onion 1/2 of 1
- Green chilli 1
- Tomato 1 small
- Shallots 4 (20g)
- Garlic 8 cloves (10g)
- Curry leaves 2 sprig
- Chilli flakes 3/4 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Water 1.5 cups
- Salt 1 tsp
- Coconut oil 2 tablespoon
- Cook the rinsed dal along with onion, tomato, green chilli, salt and water in a pressure cooker
- Crush the shallots and garlic
- Heat up oil in a pan and add crushed shallots, garlic and curry leaves
- Fry them until slightly brown in color
- Add chilli flakes and turmeric powder
- Stir for few seconds
- Add cooked dal and combine well.
- Serve hot with rice or chapati
