Funnel Cake Recipe
Ingredients :
- wheat flour - 1 cup
- milk - 1 cup or as needed
- sugar - 2 tbs
- egg - 1
- vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4tsp
Method
step 1 : prepare batter
- in a bowl whisk together milk, egg, sugar, vanilla essence and salt
- into this sift in wheat flour and baking powder
- combine well and make a smooth batter
- add more milk if needed; the batter must be thin enough to run through the funnel
step 2 : frying
- heat up oil in a frying pan
- take a funnel and close the bottom opening with your middle finger
- pour about 1/2 cup of batter into the funnel
- release the batter into the oil in circular motion
- fry on medium heat until golden brown
- then turn it carefully to fry the second side
- fry for 1 minute more and then drain into a paper towel
- finish the entire batter in the same manner
- sprinkle powdered sugar and serve warm
Note :
- I used wheat flour to make it healthy.You can use all purpose flour/maida if you wish.
