Ingredients:
- Grated coconut 1 cup
- Spicy red chilli 5
- Shallots 5
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Tamarind a small piece
- Coconut oil
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Dried red chilli 2
- Curry leaves
- Heat up oil in a pan
- Add shallots and stir and cook until the colour changes to light golden
- Add garlic and stir for 1 minute
- Add red chillies and stir for a few seconds
- Remove from oil
- Grind these along with coconut, tamarind, salt and water
- Heat up the same oil and crack the mustard seeds
- To this add red chillies and curry leaves
- Add the ground chutney to this
- Add water to adjust consistency
- Stir and cook this until hot; Do not allow to boil
- Serve this along with dosa or idli
