Ingredients:
- Tomato 3 medium
- Shallots 15 - 20
- Garlic 6 cloves
- Urad dal 1 tsp
- Dried red chilli 4 - 5
- Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tsp
- Salt
- Sugar 1/2 tsp
- Coriander leaves
- Curry leaves
- Add 2 tbs oil to a pan
- Add urad dal and whole chillies
- Stir for a few seconds
- Add shallots and saute till the colour changes
- Add garlic and saute for a few seconds
- Add tomato , salt, curry leaves and chilli powder
- Cover the pan and cook on low flame until the tomatoes are soft
- Add sugar and coriander leaves
- Turn off the flame and allow this to cool
- Once it is cool grind to a coarse paste
- Finally add 2 tsp of oil to a pan
- Add mustard seeds and 2 red chillies
- Fry it and add to the chutney
- Mix well and serve with dosa or idli
