Ingredients
- Milk 2 cups (500ml)
- Sugar 50g (3 tbs + 1 tsp) for caramel & 50g for custard
- Eggs 2
- Bread 2 slices
- Water 2 tbs (30ml)
- Pinch of salt
- Vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Add 50g of sugar into a saucepan
- Heat it until become nice golden color
- Pour this into a greased tin
- Tilt the tin so that the caramel spreads evenly
- Keep this aside
- To make custard , boil milk along with 50g sugar ,till 25% is reduced (till it becomes1.5 cups or 375ml)
- Let the milk to cool down
- Cut the sides of the bread and cut them into small chunks
- Add the bread pieces into the milk
- grind this along with salt and vanilla essence
- Then add the eggs and blend until just combined
- pour this mix over the caramel
- Cover the tin with an aluminum foil
- Steam this for 30 -35 minutes
- Take out from steamer and allow this to cool down
- Then refrigerate for 1 hour
- Remove from the tin
- Delicious silky smooth pudding is ready
- Slice and serve
